Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician, Level 1, is responsible for ensuring the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with minimal disruption to customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on hotel equipment, including air conditioning systems, boilers, and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Take regular readings on equipment to monitor performance and identify potential issues.
  • Test and maintain swimming pools and spas, including cleaning and repairing equipment.
  • Repair and replace light fixtures, switches, and receptacles.
  • Perform furniture repair and maintenance.
  • Replace and repair pumps and plumbing fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field required.
  • At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Trade school and/or college coursework in a related field helpful.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to show initiative and anticipate guest and operational needs.
