Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plumbing Supervisor to join our team at the Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System. As a key member of our Facilities Department, you will be responsible for supervising and training inmate workers in the installation, modification, and repair of utility, supply, and disposal systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train inmate workers in plumbing, HVAC, and other related trades
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of utility systems, including water, gas, and oil distribution systems
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues with plumbing and HVAC systems
  • Develop and implement plans to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of utility systems
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of facilities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in plumbing, HVAC, or a related trade
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide guidance to inmate workers
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
