Roll Tender

We are seeking a skilled Roll Tender to join our team at Nahan. As a Roll Tender, you will be responsible for assisting in the manual and machine tasks related to the make-ready, maintenance, and operation of heat set and non-heat set presses.

• Read and understand job tickets to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
• Complete on-the-job training and follow established procedures to maintain a high level of quality and efficiency.
• Maintain acceptable 'splice mode' efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Develop knowledge of different paper substrates and their applications.
• Understand the relationship between viscosity and coating applications.
• Operate heat set and non-heat set presses with ease and accuracy.
• Assist the crew as needed in all positions to ensure a smooth and efficient production process.
• Train towards the FW II, Robot Technician, and FWIV positions to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Handle hazardous waste safely and responsibly by following established procedures.
• Follow set team procedures and processes to maintain a high level of quality and efficiency.
• Understand and apply TPM (total productive maintenance) and QCO (quick change-over) methods to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Attend and participate in team meetings to stay informed and contribute to the team's success.

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
• Good knowledge of press operations and paper handling is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) to effectively collaborate with the team.
• Good math skills to accurately calculate and record data.
• Physical effort is required to perform the duties of the job, as outlined in the physical demand analysis.
• Fluency in the English language is required to ensure the safety of all employees and team members.
