Tesla CDL Driver Job Description

As a CDL Driver at Tesla, you will play a critical role in supporting raw material deliveries from yard and offsite warehousing to the Gigafactory. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations by safely transporting materials and products, contributing to timely deliveries and reducing potential logistical delays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily truck and trailer inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Perform vehicle cleaning, including washing and minor detailing, to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Obtain scale weights and refuel vehicles to ensure efficient operations.
  • Capable of performing material handling practices within the warehouse environment in between loads.
  • Perform miscellaneous jobs as required to support warehouse operations.
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License with Class A CDL and current DOT Physical Examination medical card.
  • TSA driver hazardous materials endorsement required; 48' - 53' tractor trailer hauling experience preferred.
  • Great work ethic & team player - level headed, detail oriented, safety contentious, courteous, flexible, punctual, professional, and customer focused.
  • Able to accurately maintain daily driver log-book, pre-check, and post-check of truck.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy boxes (up to 60 pounds) and manually pallet jack heavy material on/off trucks.
  • Forklift Certification training a plus; will be required to operate on occasion.
  • Knowledge of local major and minor roadways and adherence to federal motor carrier safety regulations / DOT guidelines.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to follow instructions.
