POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary objective of this role is to safeguard the well-being of patients at Harmons' pharmacies by ensuring they receive the appropriate medications for their health conditions and offering comprehensive information regarding their prescriptions. Responsibilities include filling and verifying prescriptions, providing patient counseling, collaborating with healthcare professionals, administering vaccinations, and delivering outstanding customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adheres to established departmental and store policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, sanitized, and well-organized pharmacy environment that meets company standards.
  • Provides exceptional customer service at the pharmacy counter, drive-thru, and via phone.
  • Processes and verifies prescriptions accurately.
  • Identifies potential drug interactions.
  • Consults with healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions.
  • Offers guidance to patients about their medications, potential interactions, and recommendations for over-the-counter products.
  • Administers immunizations following proper protocols.
  • Prepares documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Inputs new prescriptions into the pharmacy system.
  • Organizes prescription paperwork efficiently.
  • Requests prescription refills from healthcare providers via phone and electronically.
  • Handles insurance claims and resolves related issues.
  • Receives and organizes pharmacy inventory.
  • Removes expired products from shelves in accordance with company policies.
  • Completes assigned tasks promptly and efficiently.
  • Serves as a professional role model for colleagues.
  • Mentors and trains pharmacy interns and technicians to enhance their skills.
  • Provides constructive feedback to pharmacy interns and technicians regarding their performance.
  • Collaborates effectively with the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, sanitation, and productivity standards.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Coronavirus (COVID-19).
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other job-related tasks as assigned.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

To succeed in this role, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
  • Must possess a current Utah Pharmacist License, Controlled Substance license, and CPR certification.
  • Advanced understanding of prescription drug information and interactions.
  • Ability to administer immunizations using appropriate techniques.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy and dispensing regulations.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology, effects of prescription medications, etc.
  • Basic math and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and listening, to interact with diverse groups.
  • Capability to manage conflicts professionally.
