Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support, ensuring patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.
  • Explain procedures and post-procedure orders to patients, minimizing anxiety and promoting cooperation.
  • Prioritize workflow to ensure timely patient arrival and departure, maintaining a calm and efficient environment.
  • Utilize patient satisfaction and practice performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and participate in the planning and improvement process.
Compliance and Safety
  • Follow and support OSHA regulations, utilizing universal precautions when required.
  • Clean examination surfaces between patients, providing clean linen and storing equipment properly.
  • Immediately clean spills, adhering to universal precautions.
Teamwork and Communication
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve patient and departmental goals.
  • Share and initiate regular, professional communication with colleagues.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, facilitating open discussion and collaboration.
Technical Competency
  • Follow routine standards and safely manipulate equipment to obtain high-quality images.
  • Maintain sterile equipment and fields, adjusting cameras for optimal density and contrast.
  • Perform warm-up and quality control procedures on equipment, utilizing protocols to obtain images of internal structures.
  • Critique images for quality, making judgments to determine if repeat images are necessary.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication, with strong interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands

The Radiology Operations Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to stand for prolonged periods, travel, and reach overhead. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are essential, as well as attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. The job may require lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs, with the use of Safe Handling Equipment for any weight over 35 lbs.
