Tax Examination Technician

The U.S. Department of the Treasury is seeking a highly skilled Tax Examination Technician to join our team. As a Tax Examination Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of tax returns and identifying potential tax fraud.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough examinations of tax returns to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Identify and investigate potential tax fraud and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with revenue agents and other stakeholders to resolve tax disputes and ensure accurate tax assessments.
- Prepare and present examination reports and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
- One year of specialized experience in tax examination, tax compliance, or a related field.
- Experience with automated systems, such as Accurint and IDRS, to research taxpayers and provide written reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background investigation and obtain a security clearance.
