Position Overview:
The Injection Molding Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the injection molding department across multiple shifts at two nearby facilities. This position is essential for ensuring adherence to established procedures, policies, and regulations to guarantee the quality of components produced.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the performance of the Injection Molding Department.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies by all department personnel.
- Facilitate comprehensive training for employees and maintain accurate training records.
- Conduct performance evaluations for team members.
- Plan and schedule workflow, operators, and machine time to meet production targets.
- Foster effective communication across departments and shifts.
- Collaborate with all organizational levels to address manufacturing and quality concerns and identify areas for enhancement.
- Verify that all components and orders align with specific work instructions.
- Perform inspections on components, including first and last articles and random checks to uphold quality standards.
- Assist in the seamless transition of technology and components from Engineering to Production.
- Support the assessment, acquisition, and integration of new machinery.
- Ensure that preventative maintenance is executed and documented appropriately.
- Enhance existing preventative maintenance protocols.
- Establish productivity benchmarks and monitor performance metrics.
- Collect, analyze, and report on key performance indicators such as scrap rates, utilization, and on-time delivery.
- Manage departmental budgets effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering.
- Extensive experience in injection molding processes (scientific, decoupled, liquid silicone, etc.).
- Proven ability to set up, troubleshoot, and maintain molding machinery and processes.
- A minimum of three years of management experience in an injection molding environment, preferably ISO certified.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and strong computer skills, including MS Office.
Language Proficiency:
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and engineering schematics in English.
- Effective communication skills in English.
Mathematical Skills: Competence in applying basic mathematical concepts.
Reasoning Skills:
- Ability to resolve practical issues and interpret various forms of instructions.
- Capacity to make decisions based on data analysis.
Essential Functions:
- Mental: Must communicate effectively, analyze numerical data, read and interpret written materials, adhere to company policies, respond positively to feedback, and maintain constructive working relationships.
- Physical: Must possess the ability to hear and communicate verbally, sit for extended periods, and handle small components with precision.
- Technical: Must have experience with Scientific/Decoupled injection molding and be willing to set up molds and machinery.
Equipment Utilized: Includes pneumatic gauges, digital calipers, computers, barcode scanners, injection molding machines, and other related tools.
Additional Requirements: Candidates may be required to undergo drug, alcohol, and/or criminal background checks.
