Position Overview:


The Clinical Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, ensuring the accuracy of medication orders, compounding, and dispensing medications in compliance with all applicable regulations and institutional policies.

This role serves as a vital resource for other healthcare professionals, including pharmacy students and residents, and is committed to maintaining high standards of patient safety and therapeutic effectiveness.

Additionally, the Clinical Pharmacist supervises the activities of pharmacy technicians and interns.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the safety and appropriateness of medication therapy through meticulous order verification, dispensing, medication reconciliation, chart reviews, patient consultations, lab monitoring, and necessary adjustments to therapy.
  • Provides expert clinical consultation, delivering evidence-based information to healthcare practitioners, promoting safe and cost-effective pharmacotherapy through collaborative efforts.
  • Oversees the medication dispensing process to guarantee accurate and timely delivery of optimal pharmacotherapy to patients, including the supervision of pharmacy support staff.
  • Mentors pharmacy students and residents as required.
  • Maintains a constant state of alertness and operates in a safe manner.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D. or Bachelor of Pharmacy) from an accredited institution.

Experience Requirements:

  • No prior experience necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive movements.
  • Frequent visual and auditory tasks for communication and safety monitoring.
  • Regular use of a keyboard for data entry.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing activities.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Must hold a valid pharmacist license in the state of practice.
