Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team at Tad PGS. As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of products used in airframe and missile manufacturing.
  • Analyze engineering blueprints, process specifications, and manufacturing planning documents to determine inspection requirements.
  • Determine the most practical inspection method and technique, and plan the sequence of operation.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and equipment to inspect units dimensionally.
  • Conduct first article, receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection assignments.
  • Witness first piece part production and certify acceptability.
  • Observe and perform in-process inspection during component build-up and sub-assembly stages.
  • Perform final assembly inspection and observe testing operations to ensure quality, workmanship, and compliance with military and commercial specifications.
  • Inspect incoming metallic and fiber materials, plastic and rubber compounds for correct formulation, call-out, serialization, identification, cure date, and shelf life.
  • Verify vendor and material certifications, and check heat codes, batch, and lot numbers to ensure product tractability.
  • Certify the proper mixing and blending of bonding agents and adhesives.
  • Inspect reinforced plastic and rubber products for delaminating, blisters, porosity, bond, elasticity, gauge surface smoothness, and similar defects or characteristics.
  • Check configuration and part dimensions with or without the aid of assembly check gauges, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Prepare shipping data packages for non-metal (soft goods) components/assemblies in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Monitor oven and cure processes, and record temperature readings and dwell time.
  • Perform or observe pressurization and leak tests using plant air, nitrogen, and helium.
  • Prepare rework tags, inspection reports, and documentation.
  • Coordinate rejection with MRB, engineering, and customer representatives for depositions and process refinement.
  • Assemble end-item documentation for review and acceptance of finished products.
  • Prepare and maintain history files, records, and reports.
Requirements:
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of related Quality Assurance inspection experience.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector preferred.
  • Experience working in AS9100 production environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and analyze engineering drawings and blueprints to determine requirements.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic inspection tools, calipers, scales, height gauges, optical aids, micrometers, and GD&T.
  • Experience with production processes such as assembly, forming, tooling, welding (fusion & resistance), heat treat, cleaning.
  • Experience with production machinery and equipment such as press forming, tube bending, and other fabrication.
  • Knowledge of metallic materials such as stainless, nickel, titanium, aluminum.
  • Experience with composites materials and production processes such as elastomers, resins, and composite reinforcement material.
  • Familiarity with AS9102 standards and software, and military specifications.
  • Experience using Net-Inspect standards and software preferred.
  • Ability to direct work activities of QC Inspectors I.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency with the use of the Internet, MS Word/Outlook.
