As a Clinical Support Specialist at UNC Health Care, you'll play a vital role in assisting professional caregivers with patient care, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and performing various clerical tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, including procuring equipment and supplies.
  • Critically review patient care documentation, making note of any significant changes in the patient's condition and reporting immediately to a registered nurse or physician.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support, including organizing workload, greeting visitors, researching information, reviewing orders for logic and clarity, transcribing physician orders, and maintaining medical records.
  • Perform routine quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory of supplies.
  • Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation, vital sign measurement, and specimen collection.
  • Reinforce teaching given by registered nurses or physicians and document patient understanding of instructions.

Requirements:

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • You must be listed as Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification is required.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is also required.
  • One year of clerical or customer service experience and six months of related nursing assistant experience are necessary.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
