Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

At Precision Orthopedics and Sports Medicine LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working autonomously and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to diagnose, treat, and consult with patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient examinations, take medical histories, and record results to make preliminary diagnoses or decide on follow-up procedures.
  • Administer and order diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interpret test results.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, including injections, suturing, and wound care, and manage infections.
  • Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation and escalate to supervising physicians as needed.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct and counsel patients, and record progress.
  • Prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
  • Provide general health education on matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Assist physicians with emergency treatments and more complex procedures.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated competency in caring for all age groups.
  • Familiarity with orthopedics and sports medicine.
  • Proven ability to maintain highly confidential information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Master of Science in Nursing required.
  • Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Maryland.
  • NP National Certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient body fluids.
