Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs and systems on mid-size projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform material/part inspection and generate nonconformance reports
- Collaborate with Engineering Teams, Machinists, and Manufacturing Staff to ensure quality requirements/standards are in place
- Train and mentor entry and intermediate level CMM operators
- Create or recommend design, dimensional or manufacturing process changes to improve products and reduce costs
- Develop and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
- Present inspection result findings, metrics, and solutions to complex issues related to high-profile machined parts
- Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
- Implement solutions to complex problems occurring internally and at vendor facilities
- Interpret and adapt quality standards and government regulations
- Provide limited project direction to other staff members
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related discipline
- Five or more years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or three or more years with a master's degree
- Ability to program and operate inspection equipment (CMM, Laser Tracker, Vision equipment)
- Proven track record of success and a thorough understanding of CMM programming and operation
- Proficiency with PC-DMIS, Spatial Analyzer or an equivalent metrology software
- Exhibit working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and applications associated with complex design engineering drawings and CAD models
- Must have the analytical ability required to develop creative solutions to routine and non-routine quality issues
