Job Title: Hospice Music Therapist

Masonicare Corp is seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Music Therapist to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Music Therapist to provide music therapy services to hospice patients and their families in the Wallingford, CT area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music therapy, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with terminally ill patients.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess and Plan Care: Assess the needs of hospice patients and their families, and develop individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
  2. Provide Music Therapy Services: Provide music therapy services to patients and their families, including individual and group sessions, to promote emotional well-being, physical health, and social function.
  3. Communicate with Healthcare Team: Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to ensure seamless care coordination.
  4. Educate and Support: Educate patients and their families about the benefits of music therapy and provide support and guidance throughout the care process.
  5. Monitor and Evaluate: Regularly monitor and evaluate patient progress, and make adjustments to the care plan as needed.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in music therapy, preferably in hospice care.
  2. Certifications and Licensure: Board Certified Music Therapist (BCMT) certification and a valid driver's license.
  3. Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
