Estimator - NorCal Concrete

As a Project Estimator for our Concrete Division, you will be responsible for the overall planning and management of estimating activities for specific construction projects. This includes preparation, interpretation, and presentation of estimates within our Self-Perform Concrete Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, requirements, and specifications to ensure accurate estimates.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and materials pricing for construction projects.
- Coordinate subcontract solicitations and jobwalks to ensure timely completion.
- Determine labor and construction equipment costs for projects.
- Prepare conceptual estimates and meet bidding and work schedules.
- Submit requisitions for purchase of materials and compare competitive trade bids.
- Review preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates with Project Manager and secure all bid documents.
- Prepare subcontractor bid lists and submit drawings to subcontractors.
- Participate in bid compilation on bid day and assist jobsite staff with estimates after bid award.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers and subcontractors and supervise and train estimating staff.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong experience within the Concrete Trade.
- Minimum 3 years project engineering or related experience.
- Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings.
- Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations.
- Working knowledge of construction costs and principles.
- Estimating experience, quantity takeoffs, purchasing, accounting, engineering design knowledge, and project management experience desirable.
- Drafting and computer skills.
