Position Summary:
The Healthcare Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility. This position encompasses a variety of administrative tasks including patient management, communication, and maintaining an organized environment.
Compensation: $16-$18 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Handles patient registration, including the collection of co-pays and deposits.
- Prepares essential documentation for patients, such as new patient forms and insurance verification.
- Establishes new patient records and retrieves existing ones as necessary.
- Organizes and files patient documentation accurately.
- Ensures the confidentiality and security of patient medical records.
- Maintains a systematic and organized format for medical records.
- Engages with physicians and office staff in a courteous manner.
- Answers incoming calls with professionalism and directs them appropriately.
- Follows clinical guidelines relevant to the role.
- Completes mandatory training as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of clerical procedures, including recordkeeping and filing.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements and commitment to maintaining patient privacy.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and office ethics.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Capability to use hands for various tasks and reach with arms.
- Ability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
