The RN - Child Protection Specialist provides medical support to the Child Protection Center team, promoting evidence-based practice and ensuring accurate documentation of patient care. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Promotes the use of evidence-based practice through the nursing process, protocols, and procedures.
- Supports medical providers by rooming patients and providing assistance during medical examinations.
- Promptly completes documentation to ensure an accurate legal record of patient care.
- Makes medical referrals and places orders as directed by medical providers.
- Communicates results of lab tests and other test results to medical providers, multidisciplinary team members, and parents/guardians.
- Assists with the collection of DCI kits per protocol, maintaining the chain of custody.
- Current Iowa RN license.
- Fluent English language skills.
- Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
