Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in our psychiatric unit, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning.
  • Lead and direct a team of licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of treatment plans, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Document patient care, treatment, and response to treatment in a thorough and accurate manner.
  • Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders, and apply appropriate treatment interventions.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree) required; BSN preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year related experience required; psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
  • CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work.
