We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our team as an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Sound Production and Post-Production. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Radio/Television/Film and the Master's program in Sound Arts & Industries.
Key Responsibilities- Teach film sound design courses at introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Develop and teach courses in other film and media arts practices, such as cinematography, field recording, editing, directing, game design, and installation.
- Participate in curricular planning and student advising.
- Professional practice and/or creative activity in sound production, post-production, and design.
- Teaching experience in sound design for film.
- Skills in other filmmaking and/or media arts sufficient to teach them at introductory and intermediate levels.
- A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in a relevant field.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Professional accomplishments in sound production and post-production.
- A 12-month appointment beginning September 1, 2022.
