Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is a leading healthcare provider in New York State. Our network includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, and a nation-leading dental residency program. We also offer comprehensive HIV services, chemical dependency programs, and a family support center that provides educational, vocational, and social support programs.

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced Accountant-Grants Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Grants and be responsible for preparing budgets and financial materials for grant cost reimbursement, as well as application proposals and renewals.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Organize and maintain support data/documentation for quarterly and monthly billings/vouchers and submit timely vouchers to grant regulatory entities.
  • Coordinate proper allocation of personnel costs and other expenses to assigned grants.
  • Maintain accurate accounting and tracking of foundation grants and contributions.
  • Work on special grant-related projects for the Director of Grants or Grants Manager.
  • Assist with annual grant reports and grant budgets.
  • Provide support in completing work papers and supporting statements for management reports.
  • Assist in preparing year-end audit work papers.
  • Coordinate and assist with audits from grant regulatory entities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries in compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with program staff regarding corrective actions for appointed grants.
  • Maintain grant account analysis and reconciliation for assigned grants.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's Degree required with 2 years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of experience with grants and contracts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of standard office software, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task and/or coordinate multiple assignments.
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures, and effectively communicate detailed information to a diverse population.
