Position Overview

Summit Academy North is seeking a dynamic and experienced Varsity Head Boys Basketball Coach to lead our team to success. As a key member of our athletic department, you will be responsible for organizing and conducting practice sessions, preparing the team for competitive events, and promoting a positive and supportive team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching plan to improve team performance and achieve academic and athletic excellence.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a talented team of student-athletes, focusing on their academic and personal growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with players, parents, and community members to foster a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Collaborate with the athletic director and other coaches to develop and implement a comprehensive athletic program.
  • Ensure compliance with all district and state regulations, as well as school policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on team progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Develop and implement a plan to promote the team and the school, including social media, community outreach, and marketing efforts.
  • Assist with fundraising and sponsorship efforts to support the team and the school.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and coaching techniques.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a head coach or assistant coach in a high school or collegiate setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including players, parents, and community members.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of and experience with athletic programs, including rules, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
