Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Financial Counselor to join our team at Novant Health. As a Financial Counselor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive the financial support they need to access quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough financial assessments of patients to identify potential financial assistance options.
  • Communicate with patients and their families to explain financial options and ensure they understand their responsibilities.
  • Work with patients to develop payment plans and ensure timely payment of medical bills.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify patients who may be eligible for financial assistance programs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that patients feel valued and respected throughout the financial counseling process.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of experience in registration, insurance verification, financial counseling, and patient accounting required.
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting required.
  • NAHAM or HFMA certification within 2 years of hire required.
