Job Summary

The Van Driver is a vital member of our team at Regency Integrated Health Services, responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of residents and patients to and from various destinations. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain transportation vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist residents and passengers in and out of the vehicle, providing support and care as needed.
  • Provide safety briefings to residents and passengers prior to each trip.
  • Work on the floor to provide patient care when not driving, assisting with daily activities and tasks as needed.
  • Document vehicle usage and mileage, as well as any incidents or accidents that may occur.
  • Prepare trip, accident, and incident reports as necessary.
  • Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations, if necessary.
  • Actively participate in the enhancement of the lives of our residents through our dedicated approach to patient care and our census-building program.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Administrator in accordance with the qualifications and training.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Must be 25 years of age or older and pass a motor vehicle screen.
  • Preferred, but not required, to be a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).
  • Should have the ability to deal effectively and patiently with others.
  • Should have the ability to operate a van or small bus.
  • Should have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Should have the ability to operate lift equipment.
  • Should have the ability to lift weights of 40-60 lbs.
