Position Overview:


Oversee nursing personnel in alignment with organizational protocols and take charge of the Assisted Living facility during the absence of the Director.

Responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of both units, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care; providing training and supervision to both professional and support staff; addressing disciplinary actions or terminations in collaboration with human resources; administering personal hygiene, preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services to residents while coordinating nursing care with other disciplines.


Key Responsibilities:
Consistent and timely attendance

Manage nursing units, ensuring that daily assignments are fulfilled and supervising the provision of quality care to residents.

Communicate any changes in resident conditions, staffing matters, or personnel concerns to the Director.

Assist nursing staff with tasks such as medication administration, treatments, and family communications to effectively manage time and minimize overtime.

Collaborate with physicians, sharing essential information for resident care, transcribing and implementing orders, and ensuring timely signatures.

Monitor communications with physicians, ensuring that orders are signed promptly as per policy.

Ensure completion of physician orders, including obtaining necessary samples.

Guarantee compliance with activities on the premises and provide staff instructions as required.

Maintain a clean and safe environment, addressing emergencies appropriately.

Identify and anticipate the needs of residents and staff, providing interventions as necessary.

Document weekly on residents receiving skilled nursing care as mandated by regulatory bodies.


Orient new residents to the unit and ensure that all systems are operational for their care and comfort.

Participate in the recruitment, evaluation, and termination processes of staff.

Train, supervise, and provide ongoing educational sessions for personnel, monitoring attendance at mandatory in-services.

Implement corrective actions when policies are violated.

Assist nursing and unit staff in interpreting and planning assignments, as well as executing challenging tasks.

Attend supervisory and managerial meetings, conferences, and staff gatherings.

Uphold confidentiality regarding resident and employee records and other sensitive management information.

Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of unit equipment.

Qualifications:


Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program and currently licensed/registered with the appropriate state nursing board.


Must possess or develop familiarity with the organization’s functions, policies, procedures, and state regulations relevant to nursing services and Assisted Living standards.


Commitment to the principles of gerontological nursing and licensure to administer medications in accordance with state laws, along with current CPR certification.
