Job Description:

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Healthcare Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.

About the Role:

  • As a Clinical Healthcare Specialist, you will be responsible for providing medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician.
  • You will serve as a member of a specialized clinical and research team, coordinating the provision of care for patients at Fresenius Medical Care North America facilities.
  • You will participate in the performance of endovascular procedures and assist with the coordination of research protocols as appropriate.
  • You will be certified by each acting physician as to the scope of procedures that can be performed and to what level of autonomy for each type of procedure.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform physician-approved procedures independently and during more complex procedures, with the physician's guidance.
  2. Assist the physician by obtaining patient histories and performing physical exams. Conduct pre-procedure medical assessments of patients.
  3. Perform procedures as specified in the scope of practice under the supervision of the physician in the outpatient procedure center.
  4. Coordinate and review results of diagnostic procedures, laboratory tests, and other patient studies and medical reports to consult with physicians in determining the course of treatment.
  5. Gather patient medical history, including medical procedures performed, incident reports, and other relevant information to inform physicians of significant findings.
  6. Update and maintain patient files to ensure accurate examination documentation.
  7. Coordinate with scheduling staff and schedule patients for office hours and procedures upon assessment of patient needs.
  8. Consult with patients on the findings of physical exams and possible courses of treatment, either independently or with physicians.
  9. Respond to patient telephone calls made to the practice as needed in the absence of the physician or as necessary based on consultation.
  10. Make follow-up telephone calls to patients as clinically appropriate.
  11. Provide education to patients and their families regarding medical findings and procedures.
  12. Draw up intravenous medication and label according to Medication Labeling Policy and Medication in the Sterile Field Competency.
  13. Follow patients post-procedure in the outpatient setting to ensure proper care.
  14. Post-consult, coordinate procedures to ensure availability of required resources, staffing, and pre, post, and procedure space to ensure quality and continuity of patient care.
  15. Contribute to achieving excellence in healthcare through the quality and caring values of Fresenius Medical Care's philosophy.
  16. Comply with all health and safety policies.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
