The Nurse-Resident role at Prisma Health is designed for new graduate nurses to develop their skills and knowledge in a supportive environment. As a Nurse-Resident, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse, refining your nursing knowledge and skills while participating in quality and core curriculum classes, professional development workshops, and peer support groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend all quality and core curriculum classes to enhance your nursing knowledge and skills.
- Participate in professional development workshops and peer support groups to foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Successfully complete all clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program.
- Work under the direct and indirect supervision of the Clinical Education Team to refine your nursing knowledge and skills.
Accountabilities
- Assessment: Collect patient data and complete required forms with appropriate responses according to unit standards.
- Planning Care: Develop a plan of care based on nursing process and incorporate the plans of other disciplines and continuing care needs.
- Implementing/Managing Care: Provide care that conforms to accepted practice standards and demonstrates understanding of age-related characteristics and needs of patients served.
- Evaluation: Record patient care delivered as planned and any variation, with appropriate rationale.
- Leadership: Delegate nursing care to appropriate personnel and integrate cost-effective measures into nursing practice.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing required.
- Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina.
- BLS required.
