Role Summary and RequirementsAs an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will conduct various diagnostic and interventional procedures. You will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring their imaging needs are met effectively. Your knowledge of anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile techniques will be essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the interventional radiology suite and sterile trays prior to procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are readily available.
- Position patients appropriately for examinations and obtain high-quality scout images before initiating procedures, when applicable.
- Set up automatic injectors with the correct contrast media, adjusting settings according to procedural requirements and radiologist preferences.
- Adhere to strict sterile techniques during procedures, consistently practicing aseptic methods and following infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT) certification.
- State Registered Radiologic Technician certification.
- Relevant certification.
