We are currently in search of a Combo Welder for a maintenance role. This position involves the layout, fitting, and welding of fabricated, cast, and forged components to create structural forms, including tanks, pressure vessels, and parts for buildings and bridges. This is a non-exempt role that reports directly to the Foreman, with assigned tasks based on established procedures and frequent quality checks.
Key Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid TWIC card, ability to pass DISA Hair and Oral Fluid Tests, and successful completion of a background check.
- NCCER credentials or the capability to pass a craft test.
- Please note that per diem and relocation assistance are not provided for this position.
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience is required.
- Successful completion of a weld test is mandatory prior to hiring.
- Certification as a welder is essential.
- Completion of a written pre-employment qualification test.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation are required.
- Adherence to job site safety requirements as mandated by the client (e.g., clean-shaven, long sleeves, steel-toe boots).
- Compliance with safety equipment regulations as required by the client (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, hearing protection, safety harnesses with lanyards).
- Applicants must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
Functional Responsibilities:
The Combo Welder will be responsible for selecting appropriate equipment and planning the layout, assembly, and welding processes. This includes:
- Aligning and fitting components together, securing them with bolts, clamps, and tack welds.
- Setting up equipment and executing welding tasks.
- Assembling parts through bolting and riveting as necessary.
- Welding various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and chrome, using techniques such as arc, heliarc, gas, MIG, and TIG.
- Repairing products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Utilizing cutting torches for material cutting and demolition of existing assemblies.
Compensation and Benefits:

Physical Requirements:
Employees may be required to perform the following physical activities:
- Climbing ladders and scaffolds at various heights.
- Maintaining balance on elevated structures.
- Reaching in all directions and manipulating objects and materials.
- Coordinating movements of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
- Lifting weights ranging from 30 to 50 pounds.
- Engaging in activities such as standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, and crawling.
- Possessing visual and auditory capabilities with or without correction.
