Research Opportunities in Neonatal Diseases

The Division of Neonatology and the Neonatal Diseases Research Program at Children's Mercy Kansas City are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Neonatal Research Scientist. This is an exciting opportunity to conduct translational or basic science research in the areas of neonatal lung or gut injury.

Research Focus

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of research projects, including the molecular mechanisms of neonatal diseases such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia, necrotizing enterocolitis, genome-microbiome interactions, and the developing gut-brain axis. Our team is committed to understanding the underlying causes of these diseases and developing effective treatments.

We are a collaborative team of researchers and clinicians who are passionate about improving the health and well-being of newborns. Our team includes experts in neonatology, pediatrics, and basic sciences, and we work closely with clinicians and researchers from other departments to advance our understanding of neonatal diseases.

Resources and Support

We have a state-of-the-art research facility with access to a range of resources, including genomics, flow cytometry, imaging, GMP biologics, and a rodent vivarium. Our team also has access to a large biorepository of neonatal genomic data, which provides a rich source of information for our research.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a PhD, MD/PhD, or MD degree and a strong track record of research experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in endothelial signaling, immunity, animal model systems, metabolomics, bioinformatics, and stem cell biology as it pertains to developing lung/gut injury or other NDRP interests.

Appointment and Benefits
