About the Role:

The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse position at Bon Secours is a dynamic opportunity for a skilled and compassionate nurse to join our multidisciplinary care team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care to individuals with complex behavioral health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to establish goals and strategies for meeting the discharge or continuing care needs of patients.
  • Collect and record nursing assessments of patients' physical and behavioral health status.
  • Effectively communicate assessment information and plan of care to treatment team members and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Apply effective interviewing skills to elicit information from patients and their families to plan and implement treatment plans.
  • Develop, maintain, or modify individualized treatment plans of care.
  • Execute treatment plans as developed by providers and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Continuously evaluate patients' responses to nursing interventions and quality of patient care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in the safe management of the milieu, intervening effectively with patients who are experiencing coping difficulties.
  • Act as a patient advocate.

Requirements:

  • Current RN license in the state in which you are working or covered by compact.
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire).
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (required for Pediatric BH Units).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
  • One year of RN experience (required).
  • Recent Behavioral Health experience (preferred).

Working Conditions:

  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
  • May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse.
  • May be required to use physical restraints.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
  • May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids.
