Urban Planning Professional for Community Growth

We are seeking an experienced Senior Urban Planner to join our team in North Carolina. As a key member of our Planning + Design team, you will play a crucial role in growing our urban planning practice and collaborating with clients across the U.S.
Job DescriptionThis position requires a comprehensive understanding of the planning process, public engagement, data analysis, policy audits, site investigation data, and gap analysis to make plan recommendations and action items.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead project pursuit efforts by working with the planning and design, marketing, and other teams to produce highly competitive proposals for community planning projects;
- Collaborate with the planning and design team to lead the delivery of high-quality short and long-term planning documents;
- Review and lead the completion of data analysis, narratives, conceptual design, due diligence research, site analysis, GIS mapping, master planning, and other planning tasks;
- Manage staff, collaborate with direct reports, assist with career development, annual reviews, coaching, and mentoring;
- Deliver presentations to elected officials, advisory boards, stakeholders, and the public;
- Develop and execute comprehensive community engagement plans;
- Work with leadership staff to create strategic planning goals that advance the firm's growth in a national community planning practice;
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Urban / Regional Planning or a related field from an accredited program;
- 12+ years of urban planning experience;
- Ability to work within a collaborative team environment, communicate effectively, and manage a project team;
- Strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills;
- Experience in the development of project planning documents;
- Experience in leading a dynamic team of planners, designers, engineers, and other professionals to deliver quality services and deliverables;
- AICP licensure;

The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience.
