At Crisp Regional Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician - Certified to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the pharmacy staff in the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists in providing medication, drug information, and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel.
  • Prepare and fill prescriptions using unit dose medications and basic compounding techniques.
  • Perform dosage calculations and prepare intravenous solutions and admixtures using aseptic techniques.
  • Process records of medications and supplies dispensed to patients or customers, computing charges and entering them into the computer system.
  • Manage and rotate inventory within the pharmacy and in nursing units, ensuring that medications and supplies are always available and up-to-date.
  • Process patient charges for pharmaceuticals using the Pharmacy charging system.
  • Reconcile medication stores, including controlled substances, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Receive, inventory, and store patients' home medications, maintaining a clean and organized storage area.
  • Transport drugs and medications to the Nursing Home or other off-site locations, picking up or returning drugs or medications from supplier locations as needed.
  • Function as part of an interdisciplinary team, promoting positive interpersonal communication skills when interacting with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff in other departments.
  • Comply with CRHS and department safety, infection control, and performance improvement initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services.
  • Present a professional image to CRHS nursing and medical staff members, adhering to the CRHS Standards of Behavior.
Standards of Performance:
  • Provide medication, drug information, and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel.
  • Prepare pharmaceuticals for patients of all ages, consulting with pharmacists when questions arise.
  • Prepare intravenous solutions and admixtures using aseptic techniques, maintaining a clean and sterile environment.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and reorders them accordingly, ensuring that medications and supplies are always available.
  • Assist in filing prescriptions using unit dose medications and preparing compound pharmaceutical dosages as indicated by the prescriptions.
  • Comply with all standards of care, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate reliability as measured by compliance with the CRHS Time and Attendance policy.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct and adherence to all safety, confidentiality, and HIPAA standards.
  • Promote teamwork with the entire staff, as measured by observations of Manager and co-workers.
  • Attend professional development programs and in-service training, meeting the minimum requirement for continuing professional education.
  • Adhere to the CRHS Standards of Behavior, as measured by observations of staff and outside customers.
  • Verbalize all core competencies of the unit and department.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements, including the National Patient Safety Goals, as observed by peers, supervisor, and all members of the healthcare team.
