Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Peoria. This role involves the development and supervision of engaging educational programs for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development: Design, implement, and oversee a curriculum that meets the developmental needs of children. Ensure that all activities align with local childcare licensing regulations and promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.

2. Health and Safety: Attend to the physical needs of children, including diapering, feeding, and ensuring a safe environment. Actively supervise children and maintain cleanliness in all areas, including toys and equipment.

3. Child Engagement: Provide daily opportunities for outdoor play and interact with children through active supervision techniques, fostering a nurturing and supportive atmosphere.

4. Professional Conduct: Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with parents, staff, and visitors. Uphold confidentiality and address any concerns promptly, referring complex issues to the Director as necessary.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit, including 6 hours in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent experience in childcare.

Experience: At least 6 months of direct experience in a licensed childcare setting is preferred.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times.

Conduct Standards: Adhere to established Employee Standards of Conduct and support the program's philosophy.
