Fisher-Titus Medical Center (FTMC) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team in a PRN position at the Huron County Corrections Facility.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with physicians to provide high-quality patient care, including treatment of illness and injury, preventive care, and health education.
- Assist with medical surveillance, medication distribution, and administrative tasks as required.
- Respond to emergent situations, perform wound care, and provide first aid as needed.
- Implement physician orders in a timely manner and document patient care.
- Act as a resource person for staff and inmates, providing healthcare education and support.
- Collect and document patient data, including objective and subjective information.
- Administer and interpret TB skin tests, and review initial medical screenings.
- Maintain controlled substance and sharps counts, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Reports to the Department Director and follows orders of the Huron County Jail Medical Director.
- Triaging illnesses/injuries based on patient complaints and face-to-face assessments.
- Following established protocols and department procedures.
- Passing oral medications, giving intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, and administering drugs under the direction of the Medical Director.
- Providing vaccines to patients following written physician orders.
