About the Position:

A Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nurse plays a vital role in caring for patients as they transition from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This specialized nurse works in a hospital setting, providing medical treatment and surgery to patients with complex needs that are too complicated for a regular hospital floor but do not require ICU admission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement effective care plans
  • Monitoring patients' conditions and responding to changes in their status
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Documenting patient information and progress in a timely and accurate manner

Requirements:

  • BLS certification
  • Color vision mandatory exam
  • Core mandatory Part I
  • Core mandatory Part II (Nursing)
  • Core mandatory Part III
  • PCU - Skills: Preventing Medication Errors, Progressive Care RN, RN Pharmacology, RN State License
