About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at Lifespan. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and developing effective recreational therapy programs.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care Responsibilities:
    • Plan and implement recreational therapy programs for patients on behavioral medicine units.
    • Conduct group sessions, utilizing advanced knowledge of group principles and techniques.
    • Instruct patients in activities and techniques tailored to their physical or psychological needs.
    • Participate in disciplinary treatment planning and display excellent report writing skills.
    • Supervise OT/COTA/RT students and coordinate student supervision.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Function as a team member, considering other treatment team members' perspectives.
    • Communicate effectively with families and agencies, conveying a positive professional image.
    • Bring significant issues related to program functioning to the attention of the OT Supervisor and/or Director of Nursing.
Requirements
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in recreational therapy or a creative arts therapy field.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Registration with the National Therapy Certification Board Inc.
