Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Atlantic Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess Patient Condition: Evaluate patient's respiratory status and determine the most effective treatment plan to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer Respiratory Therapy: Render aerosol medications and treatments to patients for inhalation, and position patients to assist in breathing and prevent lung obstruction.
  • Operate Respiratory Equipment: Set up and operate devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators to support respiration and maintain patient's oxygen supply.
  • Monitor Patient Response: Continuously monitor patient's physiological responses to therapy and make adjustments as needed.
  • Provide Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on respiratory care procedures and provide guidance on how to manage respiratory conditions.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required. Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
  • Certifications: Credentialed as a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), required. Active license for Respiratory Care Practitioner in New Jersey, required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1+ years of Respiratory Care experience, preferred. Critical care experience, preferred.
