Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics in Pontiac, MI. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients, administering oral solutions, and performing various laboratory tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect specimens from patients using established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
  • Administer oral solutions to patients as required.
  • Verify and confirm patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
  • Enter data accurately and efficiently using a computer.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, and answering phones.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Flexibility and availability to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
