Job Summary:The School Nurse will provide health and medical services to students, promoting a climate of health and well-being in our schools.
Key Responsibilities:- Student Health Services: Perform health procedures, assist with medication administration, and provide respiratory care as needed.
- Health Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for students.
- Communication: Report health matters to parents, school personnel, physicians, and other agencies.
- Emergency Care: Provide emergency care to assigned students and maintain responsibility for their health and well-being.
- Education Program Modification: Advise on modifications to the education program to meet the health needs of individual students.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit reports for the lead nurse and principal.
- Education: Associate's Degree in Practical Nursing or equivalent education/training.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year practical nursing or closely related experience required.
- Certifications: Valid State of Georgia Practical Nurse license, valid certificates in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and valid First Aid certificate preferred.
The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, parents, and school personnel. The ability to work effectively in a team and maintain confidentiality is essential.
