Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team. As a PICU RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physiologic and psychosocial health status, develop individualized care plans, and prioritize interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Medication Administration: Safely and accurately administer medications, including IV drips and IVP medications, and educate patients and families on medication management.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care and coordinate patient transfers.
- Education and Support: Provide patient and family education on health conditions, treatments, and self-care, and offer emotional support and guidance throughout the care process.
- Documentation and Quality Improvement: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Licensure: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Certifications: BCLS, PALS, preferred.
