Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate data from various security devices, malware, and incident reports to enhance detection and reduce future incidents.
  • Conduct assessments of system security to identify and address risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Propose countermeasures to mitigate identified risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare and update essential documentation, including incident reports and security recommendations.
  • Assist in prioritizing and coordinating the protection of critical cybersecurity infrastructure and resources.
  • Perform foundational system design tasks, including interpretive analyses and the creation of relevant diagrams and enhancement plans.
  • Test both existing and new technologies to ensure efficacy.
  • Review and analyze proposed changes for equipment and technology planned for deployment.
  • Support the configuration and management of cybersecurity tools and systems.
Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • An active Secret clearance is required, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must be eligible for DHS Suitability.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with commercial cybersecurity tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of standard security principles, policies, and industry best practices.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, topology, sockets, and security) and web technologies.
  • Experience with intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), log analysis, and network traffic analysis.
  • Proficiency in Windows or Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Ability to quickly grasp Government Information Security policies and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Security Event Incident Management (SEIM) and log correlation systems.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and HTML.
  • Experience with VMware and virtual machine environments.
  • Capability to develop custom tools and modify existing intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools.

Certifications:

Preferred certifications include DoD M Compliance at IAT Level I.
