About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Polysomnography Technician to join our team at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital in the Sleep department. This is a full-time opportunity with 12-hour shifts, working nights.
Job Overview
This position involves performing various types of Polysomnography, including routine PSGs, CPAPs, MSLTs, and technical data analysis. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor of Neurophysiology and be responsible for assessing, designing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating patients' plans of care and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with physicians to assess, design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patients' plans of care and outcomes;
- Demonstrate necessary skills and knowledge to provide complex nursing skills and delegate tasks to other Care Team members according to unit-specific competencies as appropriate to the age of the patients served;
- Monitor quality of patient care and patient satisfaction;
- Accurately and independently pursue professional development opportunities;
- Assume responsibility to assure daily operations of the Patient Care Center are effectively and efficiently maintained;
- Work within accepted service standards and support the Vision of Ingalls Hospital;
- Work in partnership with other patient care team members and proactively identify and provide for individual patient, family, and physician needs exceeding their expectations, and employing appropriate customer relations;
- Know, follow, and actively support the philosophy, mission, and Vision of Ingalls Hospital;
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care;
- Observe and adhere to all corporate compliance requirements and communicate issues as they arise to the appropriate parties as identified in the Corporate Compliance Plan;
Requirements
- Possession of an Associate/Bachelor of Arts or Associate/Bachelor of Science Degree, or equivalent, completed or in progress;
- Registered Polysomnography Technologist, or planning on completing registration within 90 days;
- Basic computer proficiency;
- Effective verbal and written communication, including ability to communicate with other cultures or those with language or cognitive impairments;
- Ability to choose appropriate tests and protocols based on clinical status and/or situations;
- Professional-minded and ambitious to expand professional duties/abilities;
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA);
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of healthcare experience in a related field in Sleep;

Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is $65,000-$80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
