Job Summary

The PCU Registered Nurse plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, ensuring a seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage cardiac and other critical vital signs, detecting any changes that may require immediate intervention.
  • Respond to Code Blue situations within the facility, initiating protocol and special procedures as needed.
  • Efficiently manage patient flow, including screening, preparation for exams, general nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissions.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.
  • Maintain and review patient records, including posting test results and examination findings.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
  • Ensure rooms are stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when necessary.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, holding an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where practicing, or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider certification is preferred and must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous acute nursing experience is required.
