**Job Summary**
As a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner, you'll provide primary health care to a specific patient population within the guidelines of written protocols. You'll follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices to deliver high-quality care.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Engage in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, defects, or injuries and recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects.
* Perform all charting, summaries, correspondence, and assorted paperwork required for documenting care and billing.
* Participate in physician educational programs provided by Employer relative to capitated medicine and its implications on physician practice patterns.
* Participate in responding to requests for proposals for managed care contracts.
* Assist in the development of operational and capital budgets.
* Participate in operational assessments in search of revenue enhancement, expense reductions, consolidation efficiencies, and billing opportunities.
**Additional Responsibilities**
* Participate in the establishment of quality assurance programs.
* Participate in the establishment of utilization management programs.
* Participate in the selection of management information systems.
* Develop patient education services.
* Develop patient satisfaction surveys.
**Requirements**
* Education: Master's Degree - Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent.
* Experience: No previous experience required.
* Required Licensure: South Carolina Nurse Practitioner License.
* Prescriptive Authority: South Carolina Nursing License.
* South Carolina Controlled Substance license; Federal DEA license.
**Work Environment**
This position requires a minimum of 2184 hours per plan year. Part-time work is pro-rated.
