Job Summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for spearheading or assisting requirements development and management, developing and directing subsystem and component performance specifications, and developing and maintaining requirements verification and compliance and supporting artifacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements development and management
  • Subsystem and component performance specifications development and direction
  • Requirements verification and compliance and supporting artifacts development and maintenance
  • Requirements decomposition analysis to drive concept architectures and system characteristics
  • Architecture development of assigned system, subsystems, and components
  • Interface requirements and interface design information development and maintenance
  • Concept design selections documentation and System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments generation
  • Formal decisions and trade studies coordination and facilitation
  • Cost, schedule, and risk actualization and monitoring
  • Systems Engineering activities coordination to influence design
  • Vehicle level Systems Engineering activities and program milestone reviews support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 6 year's relevant experience
  • Systems engineering experience performing requirements evaluation, derivation, and allocation, and translating requirements to viable concepts design solutions within applicable constraints
  • Experience developing architecture concepts and evaluating alternatives
  • Knowledge of how to balance system design considering system concept of operations (CONOPS), performance, constraints, and logistics concerns
  • Knowledge of how to plan, conduct, and document complex trade studies
  • Knowledge of how to generate System / Subsystem Design Descriptions and capability assessments per the program statement of work
  • Excellent oral and written communication know-how

Preferred Qualifications

  • Logical architecture experience, including development of use cases
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including SysML methodology and tools like Cameo
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification
  • Guidance and mentoring of younger engineers
