We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the role of Lead CAD Engineer and System Designer for Edwards Life Safety and Emergency Communication equipment within the Applications and Professional Services & Solutions Department.

This position is primarily office-based in Bradenton, FL, with some travel required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Facilitate meetings to outline the scope of work for system design proposals.

2. Oversee field engineers in conducting site surveys to collect essential information for system design.

3. Engage in Code Calls with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to clarify system requirements.

4. Develop system design drawings utilizing FireCAD.

5. Assemble submittal packages with a focus on detail and thoroughness.

6. Address Requests for Information (RFI) from potential installation companies regarding system design.

7. Create and manage completion packages for systems, including as-built drawings and records of completion.

8. Provide engineering services for related systems, including Air Sampling Systems and EASE Sound Modeling software.

9. Assess existing systems to identify migration and upgrade pathways.

Role Objective

This senior-level position delivers valuable services to our clients in the form of:

- Design drawings.

- Submittal packages.

- As-built documentation.

- Completion records.

Our clients may include distributors or other businesses facilitating Edwards system designs and installations.

System sizes can vary from small commercial facilities to expansive multi-million square foot projects, with a particular focus on large-scale systems for this role.

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED.

- 5+ years of experience in fire alarm design.

- Valid Driver's License.

- Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Aided Design.

- AutoDesk Certified Expert.

- Experience with emergency communication and employee notification systems.

- Familiarity with smoke control systems, air sampling systems, and sound modeling.

- Five years of experience with products from Edwards and Kidde.
