About the Job

This is a temporary assignment to fill a staffing gap in a dental practice. As a locum dentist, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and gain diverse experience.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments and diagnose dental conditions.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  3. Perform a variety of dental procedures, including fillings, extractions, root canals, and crown and bridge work.
  4. Provide preventive dental care, such as cleanings and oral hygiene education.
  5. Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed.
  6. Collaborate with dental hygienists, dental assistants and other dental professionals.
  7. Maintain accurate and complete dental records.
Requirements

Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.

License & Certifications: Active and unrestricted dental license in Maryland. Current BLS certification. Additional certifications may be required based on specific practice or state regulations.

Experience: While specific requirements may vary, most locum dentist positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a dental practice.
