The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee construction projects for clients, ensuring successful project delivery. Candidates should have substantial experience working with public or governmental organizations on capital improvement projects, particularly within K-12 educational institutions or similar entities. A proactive approach and the ability to take initiative with minimal supervision are crucial.

The Senior Architect/Project Leader will manage all phases of the project lifecycle, including pre-design, design, procurement, preconstruction, construction, and project close-out. This role serves as the main liaison between Heery, the client, architects, contractors, and other consultants, fostering positive client relationships and ensuring the highest quality of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients and consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Oversee financial management, ensuring timely client invoicing and monitoring project financial health.
  • Develop detailed project plans and manage project timelines.
  • Implement performance management techniques to track project progress.
  • Oversee change control processes and manage project information flow through regular communications.
  • Prepare formal reports on project budgets and progress.
  • Maintain organized project files for team accessibility.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
  • Assist in drafting proposals for new projects or modifications to existing ones.
  • Deliver progress reports, proposals, and documentation to stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing project management practices and processes.
  • Establish effective governance and systems for project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Ability to provide strategic advice during project conception.
  • Strong time management skills to ensure projects meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with clients and team members.
  • Experience in collaborative team settings focused on specific project goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with knowledge of project management software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of relevant architectural or construction management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing design and construction projects for K-12 and governmental entities.
  • Professional certifications such as Registered Architect, CCM, or PMP are advantageous.
  • Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Familiarity with construction best practices and building codes.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and manage project-related documentation.
  • Capacity to work independently while managing multiple projects.
