About the Role

Pecan Bayou is seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse to join our team as a Charge Nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in the delivery of nursing services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Nursing Care: Oversee the nursing unit, coordinate the effective use of personnel, supplies, equipment, and facilities to ensure residents' needs are met.
  • Assess and Develop Care Plans: Conduct initial assessments for newly admitted or readmitted patients, create and implement care plans that address individual residents' needs.
  • Administer Medications and Treatments: Administer medications, IV therapy, gastronomy tube management, and wound care as needed.
  • Monitor and Communicate Resident Changes: Monitor residents' conditions and communicate changes to physicians, ensuring accurate documentation of resident care.
  • Lead and Develop Nursing Team: Supervise and develop nursing staff, providing hands-on training and guidance to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Nursing Degree and License: RN or LVN license in good standing, degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • Experience and Skills: 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care facility; effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership and Training: Exceptional supervisory skills, ability to provide hands-on training, and excellent problem-solving and independent thinking skills.
