Role Responsibilities

The Field Service Technician will engage in a variety of tasks to support the Steel Making-Long Products Caster – Services USA team. Reporting directly to the Technical Sales Manager, the technician will operate with a high degree of autonomy.

  1. Advisory Services:
    • Utilize hand tools for dismantling, setup, measurement, and analysis of guide systems, providing advisory services rather than executing the work.
    • Ensure services adhere to the design criteria established by Danieli engineers.
    • Discuss any proposed equipment modifications with management prior to implementation.
    • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure project objectives are met.
  2. Technical Drawings:
    • Identify and navigate the drawing system of Danieli, ensuring that detailed drawings are not distributed to customers.
    • Research drawings and data to assist in resolving customer inquiries.
  3. Computer Proficiency:
    • Utilize standard MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Project Management tools, for documentation and reporting.
  4. Planning and Evaluation:
    • Assess site information and develop relevant drawings and data.
  5. Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, ensuring customer sign-off on worksheets detailing hours and objectives.
    • Submit timesheets, expenses, and customer reports in accordance with company guidelines within three business days.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying technical information to customers.
  • Proficient in interacting with various organizational levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks independently.
  • Familiarity with OSHA Safety Standards.
  • Knowledge of rotating mechanisms and fault diagnosis.
  • Proficient in using MS D7 full One Cad and CMS / Laser software.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Work conditions may include exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments, with varying noise levels and temperature extremes.
  • Physical hazards may include proximity to moving parts and hot surfaces.
